Director Statement
As a storyteller, I’m intrigued by characters that live in the grey area: a housewife who is unfaithful (in the feature film “Pretty Rosebud”), a woman of faith who breaks the rules she has pledged to obey and a killer who is loving and caring (both from “Just a Man and a Woman”), a stripper who loves her job and isn’t looking to be saved (in the feature film “A Summer Day,” currently in post-production.) I have no interest in judging my characters.
I’m more interested in questions than answers. Just like in life, we don’t always know the outcome. We all come to our own conclusions of what might or might not happen.
I’m interested in people’s journeys, the crossroads they encounter and the choices they make at that moment. If my films lead to discussions and make the viewer feel uncomfortable, I feel like I’ve done my job.
